{christmas joy}

Merry almost Christmas to everyone! Today I thought I would show you how to make a fun and simple little decor project for your home this Holiday season.

I had the idea in my head to do a little framed stocking. For my template, I simply did an online search and got this:

You can get the full size image by clicking here. I printed it out on regular paper, and trimmed around the edge. I used this to cut a stocking out of white cardstock, then covered it with Christmas themed paper from the Rob & Bob Scandia Jul collection.

 I stitched around the edges for some added texture, and to make it look a little like fabric ;)

I added some letter stickers and punched embellishments, as well as some white felt for the top of the stocking.

This project only took me about an hour from start to finish! A quick little craft. You could even do different patterns - a candy cane, gingerbread man, Christmas tree, snowflake....there are lots of possibilities!

Hope you have a blessed Holiday season!

{oh baby}

This week I decided to take a break from the Christmas projects and create a baby card! When Melissa first posted the Vintage Cutouts, I knew I had to have some! They are just the perfect addition to a card or scrapbook page. And at 99 cents, they are a great bargain. For this card, I used Mr. Stork, cut out and popped up on some dimensional foam. I also added some patterned paper from the Hopscotch and Tea Party lines.

 And don’t forget – you can sew right through your chipboard letters with your sewing machine. I can't hardly not do it anymore ;)

{christmas cards!}

Hi there! I was contacted by a friend to make some Christmas cards for her. Here are a few of what I did. Originally I had planned on making duplicates, but it turned out that I ended up making 25 different cards! ;)

Thanks for stopping by! Even though I won't be making my own Christmas cards to send out this year, it was really fun to create all these different designs :) Have a great Sunday!

{pretty little studio blog hop + giveaway!}

Hi there! All of us on the Pretty Little Studio design team thought it would be neat to do a blog hop this week featuring the new Christmas line, Jingle Bells. I decided to do a Christmas card trio.

I kept this card simple with kraft cardstock, some embossing, a star journaling tag and some stitched chipboard letters. These notebook paper die cut stars are one of my favorite cards in this line!

 For this card, I used some Jingle Bells patterned paper, along with a circle tag and flashcard.

One of my favorite items that Pretty Little Studio makes is the vintage cut-outs, which come in the paper packs.  They are the perfect size to add to a card or scrapbook page for an awesome embellishment :)

Visit each of these blogs for additional holiday projects, and be sure to leave a comment at each stop. Each of us will be giving away a $10 gift certificate to the Pretty Little Studio store, and there will be a grand prize $25 gift certificate awarded to one lucky person who comments on the PLS blog!

Thanks for stopping by and good luck! You have til December 5th to comment :) ETA: Please leave your email address so we have a way to contact you if you're the winner!

{field guide inspiration}

Nicole emailed me awhile back and asked if I would be interested in participating in a new member challenge for the SC blog. I was so excited! I was assigned to create two projects with the Field Guide kit - my all time fave :)

On this layout I used a bunch of the exclusive SC/Sassafras chipboard butterflies (my favorite!) along with different bits of patterned paper.

And here's a card I made with the kit as well. Hopefully you can participate in the challenge!

Thanks for stopping by, happy Thanksgiving :)

{pumpkin patch!}

Today I have a fun and colorful layout to share with you about our trip to the pumpkin patch this year!  For my title I knew the Great Outdoors woodgrain letters would work perfectly with my theme.

Using my circle cutter, I cut a variety of sizes of circles from the right side of my page, then used the negative space to add patterned paper behind. I stitched around some of the circles and used my paper piercer on the others.  Brads from the Great Outdoors collection were perfect for my layout too.

Here's the finished layout! I love the orange/brown/green color scheme, it's perfect for fall. I hope you get the chance to sit down soon and scrapbook those fall memories before the snow starts flying! :)
