Hello friends! Today I'm sharing my first post on the One Little Bird blog. I'm sharing several 6x8 pocket pages that I created to document the end of our summer. Let's discuss how excited I am to be on Peppermint's pocket team for a minute, though. I was first introduced to her digi shop at The Lilypad via the Daily Digi Podcast. I am a podcast junkie and listen to that along with about 20 more ;) When I saw on instagram she was having a creative team call, I couldn't help myself and applied. How excited I was to be contacted to participate! I will be sharing one project per month on her blog.
I had a lot of fun making these pages! I had fun mixing black and white along with some pops of color for these spreads. I used One for the Album journaling cards for this spread. For the cards, I went ahead and added some of my text before I printed, as well as one of the photos. I have been obsessed with watercolor lately. I used my waterbrush to add a little color to this card, along with some sequins. I wanted to experiment with printing some journaling cards on a large scale. I am really in love with the Around Here journaling cards and printed the "weekend photos" at 6x8. I kept it simple by adding a chipboard arrow under the title. I love the big impact of the large page. Even though I tried to use my computer for journaling as much as possible on these spreads, I still like using my typewriter once in a while. I typed these out on white cardstock, then cut them into strips and added some stitching down the center. Again loving the sequins, even for boy themed pockets!
I think this spread is my fave. September is our anniversary month, so I wanted to recognize that. I used the September calendar card and added a simple chipboard heart along with a little watercolor on our anniversary date. The Era Of kit is fabulous. I used the "forever my always" file to make this 6x8 enlargement, then added stars from Little Talks and printed on white cardstock. I embellished with a few gold chipboard stars. The heart I love you card is one of my faves - from The Era Of journaling card set. I added a wedding photo in black and white. This spread features some Little Talks journaling cards. I also couldn't help but use the Prix Fixe journaling card for my egg photo - I take a lot of food pictures and this set is perfect for that. Again with the watercolors! I printed out the Currently card from Around Here, then used my typewriter for journaling. I added watercolor to the title along with some of the words. I love this effect, it adds a little interest but doesn't take away from the simplicity of the card. That's it for me today! Hope you gained some inspiration for your own pocket pages. Have a great week!
