Day in the Life with Crate Paper

Hello and welcome! Today I am sharing a day in the life layout using Crate Paper's Poolside collection chipboard frames.

Although these frames are part of a summer themed collection, they really work for any type of project.

Here is the layout I created -- I started with the frames, arranging them down the layout in a grid fashion. As you can see in the photo above, I used a ruler to place my title letters before laying it on the layout. This is a great tip to get a straight title with any alpha letters.

I also used a few elements from Craft Market - some chipboard and ephemera pieces. I pulled in some sequins as well as enamel dots and wood dots from the Poolside collection.

I resized my photos and printed them so they would fit inside the frames. In the frames that I didn't have photos for, I added embellishments.

I always love making layouts like this and they are so fun to look back on! Be sure to document the everyday. Things that seem small will be big in a few years. I have a few layouts like these and it is always so great to reminisce about how life has changed.

I hope you have gotten the chance to pick up some of the new Poolside collection, and I hope you will try making a layout like this soon. Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today, have a great one!

Crate Paper Poolside Mason Jar Embellishments

Hello and welcome to today's blog post all about the new Crate Paper Poolside mason jar embellishments! These mason jars are so unique, I just don't think I've ever seen anything quite like them! Here is a closer look.

The chipboard jars come 6 to a package along with some other  embellishments - tags, twine and gold sequins. The size of the jars is about 3"x4", they fit perfectly in a 3x4 pocket page protector.

Here's a look at what you'll get inside the pack. 6 mason jars with gold stitching and acetate pockets, some plain and some with gold wording. You will also get these cute tags and glitter embellishments, along with twine (not pictured) and some gold sequins.

Here is a fun idea for the sequins - pop open the pocket on the mason jar and sprinkle a few in! They stay put and it looks so fun.

Here is a closer look at my title work. I added 3 jars to this 8.5x11 layout along the bottom under my photo. I put some sequins in a few of the jars, and tags in the other. After that, I added a gold glitter foam word from an earlier Maggie Holmes collection.

I used a large photo for this layout, printing it in black and white at 8.5" wide so it would stretch across the top half of my page. I also added a wood veneer and pinwheel embellishments from the Poolside collection.

And here's another view of the finished project! These jars are so fun. I hope you can get your hands on them for your summer projects! They would be fabulous on all types of projects....not just scrapbook pages. It would even be fun to use them as a tag on a mason jar gift of some sort. The possibilities are endless!

Thanks so much for stopping by today, hope you have a great day!

Focus on Acetate Alphas with Crate Paper

Hey there! Jennifer Chapin here, and today on the Crate Paper blog I am sharing a layout focusing on the fabulous acetate alphabet letters in the Confetti collection. As I was searching through my box of Crate goodies looking for inspiration, I came across these letters and thought it would be fun to use them as a big statement on a page about my daughter. They measure 2" x 3" so when blocked together, it takes up a good bit of the page.

I decided on the phrase "just be you" and arranged them on a piece of white cardstock. After deciding where to place them, I carefully added glue dots under the non-transparent areas and stuck them to the page. I added some mini staples for a little added texture.

I wanted the photos to fit in with the letter tiles, so I printed one at 4" x 3" and the other at 2" x 3" and added them to the collage. I also picked this gold vellum rose and acetate leaves from the ephemera pack to use as an accent, along with chipboard shapes from the Craft Market collection. And the puffy gold circles are from Confetti! They are so versatile and go with almost any project.

For the journaling, I used my computer and a typewriter font and cut strips that would fit just under and over the collage. I wanted it to blend in with the design of the page.

Thank you so much for stopping by the CP blog today! I hope you've enjoyed this little tutorial and that you are getting some great use out of these awesome letters as well. Have a fantastic day!
