Halloween with American Crafts

This week on the American Crafts blog, we are sharing Halloween projects! I had a lot of fun with the big title on this layout! Instead of using the actual die cut, I used the negative space - backing my layout base with orange patterned paper for a Halloween theme.

How to: Use a digital cutting machine to cut the number ‘31’ on the layout base. Back the layout with patterned paper and adhere. Place and adhere photos as shown. Spell ‘October’ with letter stickers; stamp ‘trick or treat’ on number 1. Place embellishments and sequins as shown, using stickers and paper strips to accent the top and bottom of the page. Add date and journaling.

Crate Paper Halloween with After Dark

"This is a personal blog. All editorial content and projects are intellectual property of Jennifer Chapin. I do receive financial compensation and material product from American Crafts to develop my craft posts, but all ideas and opinions are my own."
This week is Halloween week on the Crate Paper blog! Today I am sharing a layout using the After Dark collection and American Crafts Sticky Thumb adhesive.

I started this layout with a black circle of cardstock, stitching around the edges with my sewing machine. I also printed off my photo, then cut it into a circle.

I filled the circle with all sorts of embellishments from the After Dark collection - wood veneer, chipboard, stickers, sequins and ephemera.

I thought the chipboard banner made for a fun addition to the top of the circle, then added a date and a cute chipboard bat.

I also used one of the orange paper clips from the ephemera pack on my photo after I popped it up with some foam adhesive.

Bella Blvd Flashback Friday

Today on the Bella Blvd blog, it's flashback Friday so I'm sharing a layout with an older collection :)

My kids had spirit week last week, so they got to wear fun things like pajamas and hats to school! I thought the Lucky Starz collection would be perfect for these pictures, and it is still one of my favorite Bella Blvd lines. I also designed a star background cut file that you can download for free HERE. After the file is cut, you can fold the star halves back and attach them to the cardstock with adhesive, staples or sewing. Be sure to back the negative space with patterned paper for a great look!

Supplies:
Lucky Starz: Punch Starz, Peep Starz, Carrot Starz, Bell Pepper Starz, Pickle Juice Starz, Saltwater Starz, Color Crazy Starz, Treasures & Text Stickers, Lucky Starz Candid Cards

Crate Paper Favorite Things

"This is a personal blog. All editorial content and projects are intellectual property of Jennifer Chapin. I do receive financial compensation and material product from American Crafts to develop my craft posts, but all ideas and opinions are my own."
This week on the Crate Paper blog, it's all about our favorite things! Today I am sharing a layout created with the new Maggie Holmes Shine collection (which is definitely one of my current faves). The layout is also about my favorite moments of September.

The "Treasures" 12x12 patterned paper was perfect for a background! I printed and cut my photos to fit inside a few of the frames, and also added patterned paper cut to size as well as some stamping.

I also had a lot of fun using the gold foil chipboard alphas on this page. I layered them on patterned paper and popped a few of them up on dimensional adhesive. I love the way the title turned out!

I suppose it would be appropriate to say that this is one of my favorite layouts that I've made recently!

Have a great day!

October 2015 Elle's Studio Exclusive Kit

It's the 10th and that means it's time for another exclusive kit from Elle's Studio! This month's kit combines Autumn colors with great sentiments and icons. I had fun working with it!

I created this fall PL spread with the kit. I had some photos that I thought would work perfectly! I love making 6x8 pages, the size is so practical and the spreads always turn out so cute. I used the kit as well as the new Tradition Stamp for this layout.

I used the heart stamp to create a custom card using colors that complemented the kit.

I love that the cards have lots of space for journaling too! Have to get that story down.

I also created this card using the exclusive Vellum Feathers available this month. How cute are these! I made a simple white card base, then stitched the feathers onto the card and added a tag and a few sequins.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Be sure to check out all the new items available this month, and grab your kit today for $9.99. Tomorrow the price goes up to $11.99. Have a great weekend!

American Crafts Design Team!

Today I am thrilled to be announcing that I am joining the design team at American Crafts! This is really a dream come true for me. I remember when I started scrapping almost 10 years ago, I had this lofty goal in my head that one day I would try for the team. All this time later and here we are! It's really humbling. I am excited to be joining Nancy Damiano, Gina Lideros, Evelyn Pratiwi Yusuf, and Paige Evans. I can't wait to get started!

I created this layout using the new Finders Keepers collection, along with a few other embellishments thrown in. Here are the details and how to:

Start with a piece of 12x12 white cardstock for the base of the layout. Using another piece of white cardstock, cut strips slightly larger than your circle punch. Punch holes across these strips, then adhere them to the white base and machine stitch the edges.

Use a variety of patterned paper circles, stickers, Thickers and other embellishments to fill in the negative circle spaces. Using foam adhesive, adhere the photo. Embellish with stamps or stickers. Adhere the title. Add journaling strips and other finishing touches.

Supplies: Finders Keepers (340341) – Magnify, Finders Keepers (340336) – Lost & Found Transparency, Finders Keepers (34023) – Keen, Finders Keepers (340234) – Today Phrases Thickers, Finders Keepers (340235) – Transparent Stickers, Documentary (340199) – Snapshots Black Foam Thicker Phrases, Documentary (340198) – Noted Cork Alpha Thickers
