Everybody's workin' for the weekend....

Holy crap, am I ready for a three day weekend! I thought I would quick share a layout I did a couple weeks ago about a Hawkeye wrestling meet we recently went to. The patterned paper is from Reminisce's Hawkeye line, and I got the die cut at their store also. Letters are American Crafts. Heart by Heidi Swapp, ribbon from my stash. Thanks for looking!

U Rock!

I needed a birthday card next month for my 19 year old cousin, and I wanted something "hip". :) I drew inspiration from Kristina Werner's blog for this card.

Base is Pomegranate, layered with white and basic black. U Rock stamped with Big Deal Alphabet in Craft White ink and embossed with White Embossing Powder. Edges are stamped with a CTMH set in craft white ink and embossed with holographic embossing powder. Ribbon is from SU, Purely Pomegranate and striped Pumpkin Pie grosgrain. Flowers are from the Flower Fusion pack in the new S/S SU catalog. I finished the center off with a black brad.

Thanks for looking!

Valentine Sneak Peek

This first card is done with the Carte Postale set from Stampin' Up and the Le Jardin designer paper, also from SU. How very French and sophisticated! Ha! :) The inside sentiment says 'Happy Valentine's Day'.
This card uses my favorite stamp - the Polka Dot background. Also used is the Happy Hellos Sale-a-Bration set and the scalloped circle punch. Have a great day!

My Stamp Room

Well, it has been about a month since my husband helped me re-do my little stamp/scrap room, and I'm just finally posting pictures. :) I'm not sure if you can tell from the pics, but the room is actually painted in River Rock. Since it is just off our bedroom which is painted in an olive color, I thought it would go well. I really like it with the black accents and hardwood, too. Now I just need to get some more stuff up on the walls! :) That's the easy part, though. I do love this poster I got with Ali Edward's new book though, and it matches the color perfectly!
I keep some of my non-SU stamps in this little cubby - Catslife Press and AMuse mostly. I find that if I keep them where I can see them, I use them more. :)
I bought this inkpad organizer on Ebay and I really love it. It keeps all my inkpads right at my fingertips.
Some of my SU sets are on the top shelf of the bookcase, with pictures of family above that.
Work area - a little messy right now! :)
I have a window which is nice for natural light during the day. I've stuck some of my favorite photos on the window frame. :) Also hanging here is my birthday calendar to remind me which cards to send.
These shelves are just to the left of me and are great for storing my stampin' mist, flowers, brads, etc.
I keep all of my neutral cardstock in trays right next to where I work so they are handy, since I use them so frequently.
I keep my adhesive, stampin' scrub, paper piercing mat, sanding tools, and other goodies right here where I can get to them easily. I think I picked up this desk organizer at Wal Mart.
That's all for now, have a good one!

Thank you beary much

I found this Stampendous stamp in a box of my childhood things and remembered, "Hey, I used to stamp when I was twelve!" Ha!! Along with it I found a Daisy Duck stamp, a Charlie Brown Stamp, and a Sebastian the crab stamp. Oh that cracks me up! Anyhoo, this little teddy is colored in with Copics and SU markers on WW cardstock. He's matted with Bashful Blue and Choc Chip. Patterened paper is from Basic Grey, flower from Prima, and heart from Heidi Swapp. This will be a thank you note for my LSS owner who let me have a class at her store this past weekend. Thanks, Cinda!

I am excited to say that I have finally buckled down and am actually going to the gym this week! Today will be day 3. Adam and I are trying to get pregnant, but I figure as long as that's not happening, I might as well, try to lose some weight, lol! And I feel oh so stylish with my new Ipod shuffle...ha! Seriously, though, it's great to take to the gym because it's so light and small, you can just clip it on your sleeve and not even notice it's there. With our regular Ipod I felt like I was lugging around an old Discman... :)

I'm off to take the dog to the vet to get his nails trimmed today...then hopefully some more card making this afternoon. Maybe I'll check out the challenges over at SCS. See ya later!

Cardstock: Stampin' Up!
Patterned Paper: Basic Grey
Stamp: Stampendous
Ink: Basic Black and copics, SU markers
Accessories: Tag corner punch, vintage brads, heart - Heidi Swapp and flower - Prima

Old Stool, anyone?

I was feeling a little cheeky today and wanted to make a card for my uncle Mitch - his birthday is this week. His beer of choice is Old Style Light and I am forever giving him crap, calling it old Stool. I think he will enjoy this! Beerafella is stamped on Whisper White, then colored with copics. Sentiment was printed out from the computer. DP is from Scenic Route. Thanks for looking!

Stamp - Beerafella
Ink - Basic Black and Copic markers
Paper - Scenic Route, Chocolate chip and other CS - Bazzill

Happy Little Turtle

I picked up this Whipper Snapper stamp last year and haven't used it much since. I'm really trying to brush up on my coloring skills, though! This card is definitely better than some I've done...ha! In fact, I'm heading up to Davenport today to see about getting some more Copic markers. I have a plethora of Hobby Lobby giftcards just burning a hole in my pocket! :)

This card will go to a family friend next month for her birthday. I'm off to go get ready. See ya later!

Stamp - Whipper Snapper
Cardstock - Perfect Plum, Saffron, Mustard, Whisper White
Paper - Heidi Grace
Ribbon - Choc chip taffeta, Vintage Brads

A Valentine...

If I remember correctly, last year I went to .....brace yourself.......Hallmark and bought my husband a Valentine. Shocking, I know! I told myself this year that wouldn't be the case. I picked up this Whipper Snapper stamp at my LSS for 25% off. Woohoo!
I was on a roll, so I figured I would make the inside of the card pretty too. I didn't realize it, but the hostess set For a Friend has the perfect valentine sentiment! You can't beat the flowers from the One of a Kind set, either. Thanks for stopping by!
Whipper Snapper, So Many Sayings, Polka Dot BG stamp
Pretty in Pink, Choc Chip, Vanilla and Pomegranate cardstock
Stazon black, Choc Chip ink, Copics and SU markers for coloring

Thank - You's

Well, I had a great time yesterday at my card class, and I hope everyone that attended did also! ;) Here are three of the five cards we made.
This card uses the sets Block Party and Embrace Life - my new favorite set!
This valentine card uses the new set Happy Heart Day. I didn't really like this set to begin with, but it is growing on me now. I'm busy today working on some Valentine cards for my class coming up in February.

Adam and I were supposed to wake up at a decent time this AM to go to brunch, but we slept til noon - oops! Better luck next weekend. :)
