{a few layouts}

While in Seattle, I got to visit the first ever Starbucks.....I was so excited!!

I saved the paper bag that I brought my souveneir mug home in and used it on this layout. For the title, I used some American Crafts thickers, as well as a journaling tag from MME. I also stamped some coffee beans on the bag... ;)

This little Starbucks logo is from a drink can also see the Girls Paperie die cut paper I used peeking out from behind the other patterned paper (MME).

This little bird sticker is from the new Basic Grey basics line, and the word sticker  is by Girls Paperie as well.

The coffee mug stamp is from a retired SU set (Like it a Latte), and I also used a MME transparency on the photo above it.

I like having the chance to scrap about myself once in a while... ;)

Up next is my favorite layout I made at the Favorite things crop.

Keira is always so serious in most of the photos I take....she's really a happy little girl but it's just so hard to get her to smile for the camera!

On this page I used my Pink Paislee Queen Bee line, and I used almost all the papers in that line because I wanted everything to coordinate.

Here I used another one of the Martha Stewart doily tags, and embellished it with some more Queen Bee goodies and some lace trim.

Here's a smile! The brad was made with the i-top bradmaker by imaginisce. Such a cool tool!

All title letters are from Pink Paislee as well.

Thanks for taking a look tonight! I have one request......if you read my blog regularly please leave me a comment on this post.... I am trying to figure out if there are actually people out there reading my blog! I can count on both hands the number of comments I've received since I started. ;) The feedback is greatly appreciated.....:)

{scraptacular! [i stole that from adam]}

This weekend I witnessed my first ever was pretty intense!! lol ;)

I was lucky enough to get a spot at Scrapaganza's huge annual Favorite Things crop, and what a fun time it was! Plus I even won some prizes along with getting our 'favorite things'. This is my friend Cinda -- she was chosen to compete in the scrap-off with 14 other scrappers.

They got 5 minutes to create a layout with pre-determined supplies! It was fun to watch her frantically ;)

Unfortunately she didn't win.....but had fun competing anyway ;)

I was a suuuuuper slow scrapper. I only got 4 full layouts done, and the other pages were just 6 photo pocket page protectors that I filled in. But I am happy with what I got done.

This is a layout I did with pictures of Keira and Aidan at the park this spring. I used some of my new Jenni Bowlin bingo card alphabet tiles, along with some KI memories chipboard letters (that I won) for the title.

I also used some Cosmo Cricket journaling cards, as well as the little girl cut out of some October Afternoon paper.

For the banner, I used some American Crafts Dear Lizzy adhesive fabric paper.

This layout is all about Easter....I knew I wanted to scrap some pics of Keira opening her Easter basket from me and Adam. Here I used one of the vintage flashcards from Elle's Studio, as well as my scallop punch and some machine stitching.

Isn't that duck paper cute? That's from October Afternoon, as well as the journaling card.

I also embellished one of the Martha Stewart paper doilies for a quick embellishment (inspiration from Christine Middlecamp - doilymaker extraordinaire!!) ;)

For my title, I used some October Afternoon letter stickers, and some Making Memories chipboard letters that I stitched onto ledger paper.

I just love these little ducks! And the machine stitching completes it. I got a lot of funny looks for bringing my sewing machine....but now I can't scrap without it, so if I can take it, I do!

This weekend I'm looking forward to having 4 days off around the holiday, as well as a date night with Adam on Friday.....Keira will be staying at Grandma's all night! Woot!

Oh and we tried swimming the weekend before last out on the deck.....lets just say she was not a fan. But she let me pour water on her.....just wouldn't get in the pool.... ;)

Look at those little teeth! It just cracks me up....and she's in the process of getting about 3 more.

Baby legs. ;) So cute and squishy!!

Good night!

{dt submissions! }

I applied for the DT at Elle's Studio......I didn't make it this time......maybe next!

Anyway here is the banner I made and submitted.

I thought for sure this would be the nail in the coffin! Oh well. At least it looks all pretty in Keira's room :)

I used these printables from Elle's, along with some crepe paper and BoBunny patterned paper.

I also submitted this layout:

Sorry for the small and blurry photo. I had to condense the file to e-mail it and forgot to make a copy.

I used a lot of patterned paper and stamps from Elle's as well.

Along with a printable tag, bakers twine and machine stitching.

And also paper pieced a cute. :)  Also I am loving these flashcards.

I lovvvvvvved this page.

If you'll excuse me, I'm about to go drown my sorrows in a bowl of mint choc chip ice cream.

Nighty night!

What a long week! I returned from Minneapolis late Wednesday evening, and have been playing catch up ever since with laundry, cleaning....etc.  Today Keira and I have a 2nd birthday party to go to -- here's the card I made:

I used some Cosmo Cricket/Twist and Shout patterned paper, along with some Jenni Bowlin banner stickers.

The scalloped circle was cut out with my SU bigz die and Big Shot. I also used some AC Sprinkles letter stickers. I hand cut the cupcake and paper pieced it together.

This layout is one I did last weekend. I had the idea in my head for awhile, and wanted to show a lot of pictures from my life as a whole :)

Since the journaling is kind of private, I used a small envelope to house it and tied it up with some bakers twine. The title letters are from Elle's Studio.

I used a Making Memories journaling tear out to put in front of the title and stitched the edge. I also tried to put the date on each photo so someday when Keira looks at this, she'll have an idea of when everything happened. :)

I used a lot of little bits of punched patterned paper to accent this page - that was the funnest part! (Is funnest a word??)

I stamped on the envelope flap with the SU set Watercolor Trio.

You can see more of the little punched bits and words here.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a great weekend :)

{paper piecing}

I'm scheduling this post for Monday, but I won't be back til later in the week. I am going to Minneapolis for work, so Adam and Keira are flying solo for a few days.  Today I've been washing clothes, putting together Keira's outfits for the week, making sure everything is in order and the fridge is stocked up....this afternoon I made a pot of chicken and noodles (one of Adam's favorite) to eat on while I'm away. I'm sure they'll do fine. :)

My Grandma's birthday is next week, so I decided to use my new Lockhart apron stamp to make her card.

When I was out in Seattle, I visited Monkey Love Rubber Stamps and picked up the apron. I had seen it used a lot while perusing other blogs, and snatched it right up! I knew it would be perfect to use for paper piecing with patterned paper.

First, I stamped the image with black ink on two pieces of October Afternoon patterned paper (Thrift Shop and Fly a Kite).

I trimmed the parts that I wanted out of the polka-dot paper and glued them on to the blue apron. I put the little pocket up on dimensionals.

I mounted the apron on a journaling card from OA's Thrift Shop line, then mounted that on a kraft tag.

I punched some flowers out of an old sewing pattern and finished it off with a punched circle and corduroy brad.

I also used some other patterned papers from Cosmo Cricket's Material Girl line, as well as machine stitching, vintage buttons and seam binding.

Thanks for stopping by! I'm sure as you're reading this I will be extremely sleepy from getting up at times. I see lots of caffeine in store... :)  On the up side, the Mall of America has an Archiver's, so I'm sure I will be able to stay awake for that!!

{these three remain}

Sorry for the craptastic photo.

This was the best one of the bunch! I tried to take some closeups, but it's hard to get good pics when it's dark outside! And I had to give this card to my Gramps and Grandma yesterday.

This was their anniversary card this year, which I gave to them along with this book (which might I add, made my grams cry! :)) I used a pocket from Elle's Studio - Summer 2010 Documented. Inside the pocket, I included a tag with the Bible verse from I Corinthians 13:13, very appropriate for an anniversary card. Also one of my favorite verses as it was read at Adam and my wedding.

The doily was inspired by Christine Middlecamp, you can see hers HERE. I didn't have the exact supplies that she used, so I improvised a bit but I do like the way it turned out. The pink pattern paper is by Recollections, from Michaels.

Hope you have a great rest of your weekend, I was hoping to do a little swimming with Keira, but now it looks like rain is coming in! :(

My layout is finally done! Here it is...

I love when something turns out exactly as you had imagined it! My new October Afternoon Fly a Kite paper matched perfectly with the yellow in the photo too.

I made the banner out of Maya Road's scalloped mini chipboard banner set and some patterned paper ( I used some Cosmo Cricket {sun} October Afternoon {middle three} and Elle's Studio {multi colored polka dot}).  I also used my SU heart punch and some old sheet music and book print.

The base for the layout is Bo-Bunny's back to basics paper in Brilliant Blue dot. The blue and white polka dotted paper is Stampin Up (Island Oasis pack}. I also used my Martha Stewart lace edge punch and machine stitching. The photo is mounted on an October Afternoon label sticker (Report Card line).

I also punched some circles from the OA Fly a Kite paper and stitched them onto the layout behind the main photo.

I used some more of the Bo-Bunny paper for the waves, and punched out the shapes with a 1" circle punch.

I used AC Thickers for the title, and added some stitching over top.  Thanks for stopping by today! I've got a cranky little one on hand...she got her 12 month shots today!
