Organizing your Project Life Page Protectors

So organization is really not my strong suit. Procrastination, however, I get like an A++ in that. At any rate I was tired of my page protectors lying in a pile on my scraproom floor getting all bent up. It was also annoying to try and find the ones I needed. One night I sat on the floor with a glass of wine and all my pages and got to work. I picked up this Heidi Swapp album at Michaels and love it so.

Basically this is a very sophisticated method involving Post It notes. At first I thought about doing card stock dividers, but I wanted to be able to see all the different pockets. I separated my pages out into piles and started loading them into the book, smaller ones on top.

If there was a picture of the pocket configuration on the packaging, I cut that out and adhered it to the Post It note. I also put the letter of the design on there for reordering purposes.

I am so glad I did this. I no longer dread sifting through that humongous pile of page protectors and praying I have one left of the one I want. It's so easy for me to go in and grab the page I need.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you try this too. If you post pics, link me up in the comments!

Elle's Studio November Kit + extras

Good morning! It's time again for another monthly kit at Elle's Studio and this month there are lots of fun extras too. You can pick up the November kit today only for $9.99, but tomorrow the price goes up to $11.99 so grab it while you can. The tags are perfect for Christmas pocket pages or your December album.

Merry & Bright printable.

December date labels printable.

From this day printable.

Digital cut files and PNGs! I used one of these on my project in Photoshop. So fun.

I decided to take the kit + extras and catch up with my December Daily album from 2013. I always seem to finish it the next year but I am ok with that! Better than not doing it at all :)

I love putting the 4x4 page protectors in my 6x8 albums and mixing up the sizes.

For the photo on the right, I sized it at 6x8 and used one of the digital files to embellish the top left corner, then typed some journaling on the bottom.

For this spread, I sized my photo at 6x8, then dropped the PNG file on the photo and changed the color to teal and lowered the opacity. I also added a gray stroke around the edge to make it pop a bit. The wood veneers were a perfect accent.

There are also new exclusive stamp sets in the shop!

As well as a winter ephemera pack.

Lots of great stuff so be sure to grab it quick! I have a feeling it may sell out fast. Thank you for stopping by and have a great week!

New Issue - Get Your Game On

Happy Monday! It's time for another issue at Paper Issues. For this issue, it's all about getting your game on! Get Your Game On is sponsored by Paper Issues and you can win a $20 gift card to the PI store!

For my layout, I used the new Amy Tangerine Stitched collection available in the shop.

My daughter is not a big sports person. When I asked her what sport she wanted to play, she responded with Art. I knew it had to be documented on a page. I photographed some of her drawings and included those as well.

The embellishments in this line are awesome. You can see here the chipboard pieces and foam stickers.

I also added some machine stitching around the circles on the middle journaling card.

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to link up for a chance to win! You can save 20% on your order at Paper Issues with code JENCHAPIN.

Elle's Studio Sycamore Lane Blog Hop!

Hello and welcome to the Elle's Studio inspiration blog hop! Today we are sharing projects created with the Sycamore Lane collection. This collection is perfect for Fall scrapping and I have already used it on so many projects!

I was inspired by Nicole Reaves' project in the latest Studio Calico gallery here. I loved how she used the die cut leaves and created a pattern on her background. I used the leaf cut from the Sycamore Lane digital cut file and created a recurring pattern on white cardstock.

I backed my leaf die cut sheet on another sheet of white cardstock. Then, I used my watercolors to color the leaves in a variation of fall colors. I adhered the leaves back to the negative spots and machine sewed over them.

I am also loving the Numbers Stamp outlines and am having fun water-coloring those as well. The 'fall' diecut is my own handwriting, traced and cut in Silhouette Studio.

I also couldn't resist using some of the Sycamore Lane cork shapes on my page. I just love how this turned out!

Here's a little sneak peek of what's coming this month.

The next Elle's Studio monthly kit launch is November 10th at 8:00 am PST and above is just a tiny peek at what will be available! Mark your calendars now so you don't miss the exclusive November kit, four add-ons, printable & cut files!
